Mobility Stories

A red tricycle with a basket on the back is parked next to a tree in a park.

The idea of @mobilitystories is to amplify the voices of people who are under-represented in discourse about walking, cycling, and other forms of active transport, to push forward their ideas to make moving around cities healthier, safer, fairer, more social, and more joyful.

I hope to talk to many different types of people, especially those experiencing exclusion, difficulty, or hesitance travelling outside of cars. If you don’t see yourself represented in the video posts to come, and you’re willing to chat to me, I’d to love to hear from you.

Almost everyone could share in the multitude of benefits and the dignified independence that active and outdoor modes of movement offer, if the policy settings, investment, leadership, and pace of change were right.  Ordinary people who’re just trying to get around can provide valuable insights from their own unique experiences into how to make things better and create more accessible cities for everyone.
